To turn off screen rotation first make sure to slide up with your finger from the bottom of the screen in order to bring up the Control Center. Afterwards, tap on the Portrait Orientation Lock button (top right corner of Control center) and make sure it’s on. After this you won’t have to worry about screen rotation anymore. To turn it back on follow the same procedure, and make sure Portrait Orientation Lock is turned off.
