According to a report from SamMobile, the upcoming smartphone from Samsung will feature a fingerprint sensor that will be somewhat similar to the one found on the iPhone 5s.
It had been rumored that the Galaxy S5 would have an iris scanner, but it now appears this idea was far-fetched, so Samsung opted for a fingerprint sensor instead. However, the sensor will probably not match Apple’s Touch ID in terms of quality.
The sensor itself works in a swipe manner, which means that you would need to swipe the entire pad of your finger, from base to tip, across the home key to register your fingerprint properly.
Swipe-style sensors are nothing new, as they have been used in numerous devices over the years, and they usually aren’t very accuracy unlike Apple’s fingerprint scanner.
