Sometimes your Finder can freeze and stop working for no apparent reason. Don’t worry, this can easily be fixed by relaunch the Finder. There are two ways in which you can relaunch the finder in Mac OS X.
1) Using Force Quit:
- Click on the Apple Menu (Apple logo located in the top-left corner of your screen) and then choose Force Quit.
- Select the Finder and click Relaunch.
2) From the Dock:
Although not many people are familiar with this method, it is the easiest way to relaunch the Finder. Simply hold the Option (Alt) key on your keyboard and right click on the Finder icon in the Dock, and then click Relaunch.
Anytime your Finder freezes simply follow one of these steps, and your Mac will be functioning normally almost instantly.
