During today’s Apple media event, the Cupertino company introduced new version of both the 13-inch and the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The computers feature new Intel Haswell processors, better graphics, Thunderbolt 2 ports, faster PCI Express solid-state drives, and faster 802.11ac WiFi.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,299 for a base model, while its 15-inch counterpart starts at $1,999 for a base model. In both cases it is $200 cheaper than last year. It’s also important to note that only the more expensive model of 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro includes a dedicated graphics card. Both laptops are available for shipping today.
Apple also decided to discontinue classic 15-inch MacBook Pro model, leaving only the 13-inch version. Unlike its Retina siblings, it features HDD storage instead of an SDD, DVD drive and low-resolution display.
